Grand Hôpital de Charleroi

The Grand Hôpital de Charleroi is a landmark healthcare project where contemporary architecture meets functionality and human-centred design. For this large-scale hospital development, STONE NV supplied custom terrazzo tiles designed in collaboration with RESERVOIR A.

The terrazzo flooring defines the central atrium, guides movement through public areas and creates seamless transitions to consultation rooms and patient spaces. More than a visual element, the floor supports wayfinding, calmness and spatial clarity—essential qualities in modern healthcare environments.

Terrazzo is particularly suited to hospitals due to its durability, hygiene and low maintenance. In Charleroi, these technical advantages are paired with a warm, refined aesthetic that enhances the experience for patients, visitors and staff alike.
